You often see certain icons next to our motors. Here we explain which functions and motors these icons stand for.
“Never change a running system!” Our VX series, proven for over 20 years, has this type of drive unit technology. With regular adjustments, we have constantly improved its stability. Easy-to-maintain carbon brushes that can last for decades make this variant a trusted and reliable companion.
Pulse width modulation means maximum range per battery charge. This technology regulates the speed particularly effectively by means of a digital microcontroller. Power losses due to heat generation are eliminated. This means high torque in all speed ranges with one battery charge. This technology is included in the DX-V series.
High performance, very efficient.
The workhorse among our drive units. Powerful and economical. State-of-the-art material and the modified arrangement of rotor and magnet enable contactless power delivery. The result: Virtually wear-free motor operation for an extremely long service life. Our current brushless models BLX70 and BLX110 are widely known as untiring motors for continuous operation!
A Rhino motor with GPS control offers pure luxury! Anchor function, cruise control, keeping course, moving along stored routes and other useful functions! GPS is currently installed in the BMR 65.
Short power boost beyond maximum at the touch of a button.
You need to get out of a dangerous situation quickly? You can apply a short power boost of up to 30% above the nominal motor maximum at the touch of a button. Currently included in the BLX70 and BLX110.
Our Rhino motors are generally very quiet. But they get even quieter with this special drive/propeller combination!
Rhino Motors recommends lithium iron (LIFEPo4) batteries with up to 14.8V initial voltage. All our motors can be driven with this battery type.
Electronic protection function in case of overvoltage, short circuit or overload.
This intelligent electronic system digitally detects a blocked propeller and reacts quickly in the event of a short circuit or reversed polarity (positive/negative terminals reversed). It switches off the motor immediately in the event of overheating and also if the voltage is too high or too low. This protects the motor and ensures a longer service life. It also replaces an external fuse and prevents accidents. Included in all Rhino digital motor models (BLX, DX-V and BC2400).
The Real-time Automatic Output Regulation technology reliably provides the system voltage required for maximum performance and efficiency.
With this intelligent technology, the motor controller automatically reduces the output voltage (DC) and keeps it within the nominal range so that the motor can use a wide range of batteries on the market. Currently included in the DX-V series.
This motor can also be operated on a belly boat without any problems. (BC2400, VX18, VX24 as well as the Black Edition series.)
Also suitable for side mounting on a kayak! The BC2400 and Black Edition are ideal for this.
Ideal for use as an auxiliary motor.
This motor is powerful enough to propel a medium-sized sailboat. Please do not exceed the maximum boat weight! The shaft of these motors is usually long enough (approx. 80cm). We also offer motors with longer shafts (>90cm), e.g. the BLX70, BLX110, VX54L, and DX55V-L.
The battery status is shown on the motor display. Important information is thus immediately available. Integrated in the VX34, VX54, VX65, BLX70, and BLX110.
Extensive motor status information including the battery voltage, current motor power level and other useful operating parameters can be called up via the display.
The best way to stay informed about all motor functions while on the water! This feature is currently available on the DX-V, Black Edition and BLX-BMR GPS.
Ideal for belly boats.
The motor head can be swivelled up or down and adjusted. Ideal on a belly boat, or if you want to steer while standing up. This feature is included in the Black Edition series.
Ideal for belly boats and side mounting on a kayak.
Need to move the tiller for motor alignment? No problem with this function! At 180° offset, the tiller is positioned in the direction of the propeller. Also included in the Black Edition series.
USB port for charging lamps and smartphones.
A useful feature to recharge phones, lamps and other devices! Included in the BLX70, BLX110 and DX-V series.
Sturdy, corrosion-resistant, proven for decades! Included in the VX34, VX50, VX54, VX65, BLX70, BLX110, and DX-V series.
Glass fibre plastic coated aluminium shaft. Lighter, safer and highly corrosion resistant! Currently included in the BMR models as well as the Black Edition, VX18, VX24, and BC2400.
This motor has a sacrificial anode system to prevent corrosion damage caused by salt water. The BLX70, BLX110, BLX, and BMR GPS motors have this feature.
All Rhino models from 60lbs thrust are equipped with these power magnets. This ensures economy with maximum performance.
The motor can be tilted in and out of the water simply by pressing a button. The propeller depth is continuously adjustable. Included in all models except VX18.
